Pneuduino meets fashion design! We teamed up with the amazing Behnaz Farahi and ran this one week long workshop in China.
The workshop combines the design of the garment with the pneumatic system, and creates a body art device that automatically senses the human behavior through electronic interaction, and explores how the material acts as an interface between the human body and the surrounding environment, so that the body functions can be augmented, enhanced and expanded. Among them, this workshop mainly uses the method of controlling inflatable fabric to realize the dynamic change of the garment mechanism. Its pneumatic system is primarily controlled by the Pneuduino platform, a modular hardware platform for controlling air flow and pressure. The natural patterns were designed by procedural design software (Grasshopper), so that the air pockets of the pneumatic wearable device and its form transformations are controlled, and the human body structure can be reflected and reconfigured according to the movement of the wearer’s body.
